Our Vineyard

The initial attraction to our property was the vineyard itself – very old vines (planted in the 1960s), a great mix of grape varieties, excellent gravelly loam soil and a perfect aspect at the base of Western Australia’s Darling Ranges.

With a lot of care and attention our established vineyard is low yielding and produces premium quality grapes with highly concentrated fruit flavours. Our fruit selection in the vineyard is very ‘hands-on’ and highly selective. Most of our wines are produced from several parcels of fruit hand-picked from different areas of the vineyard and at varying levels of ripeness to produce the desired texture and complexity in our interesting, small batch wines. We very much believe that great wines begin in the vineyard!

With original plantings of Chenin Blanc, Semillon and Shiraz, our 20 acre vineyard has been grafted over the years to include unique Japanese Kyoho grapes, Viognier, Savagnin, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo and Mourvedre.

Although we predominantly use our own grapes to produce our small batch, premium wines we also occasionally source other varieties from local growers to supplement our range.
