Our Story

Bella Ridge is a small family producer established in 2003 by Alon and Jodi Arbel.

As our entry to the wine industry was slightly unscripted, the original plan was to sell our grapes for a couple of years whilst we got on our feet. After all, we had just had our first child; we had no experience as grape growers or business owners; and Alon had only just months earlier completed his winemaking studies when Jodi’s parents fortuitously drove past a 'For Sale' sign on a 20 acre vineyard in the Swan Valley. But plans did change and rapidly! With the help of Jodi’s parents, some run-down sheds were re-purposed into a small ‘winery’ and Bella Ridge was up and running for vintage 2004 - quite a mean feat in hindsight!

We have picked, crushed and pressed grapes every vintage since! We crush approximately 30 Tonne of grapes each vintage, producing around 2500 cases of wine per year.

Our first-ever released Bella Ridge wine was reviewed nationally by James Halliday in The Weekend Australian and we’ve been acknowledged as the Western Australia’s Best Small Producer, but we pride ourselves mostly on producing characterful, interesting wines that are delicious and enjoyable to drink, especially with food!
